Life and Cash-flow Accounting
(Eric A., December 29, 2008)

There’s something tickling the back of my brain about the whole reporting of the economic crisis and the “solutions” offered. That’s not just mainstream commentators either; it’s equally visible among contrarians, deep thinkers, critics and so on, but it’s something I’d like to share with you today.

Operation SERF, Part 4
(December 22, 2008)
“Why were you off mission?” asked the man sitting at the kitchen table in a farmhouse on the south side of the Ohio River. “What were you doing 30 miles inside of Indiana yesterday?” “I lost three of my men,” replied John who was seated across from the man. They were the only two men in the room. “I needed to retrieve their complete remains and give some payback.”

"The Good Life"
(Chris Sullins, November 10, 2008)

My friend and I were engaged in a team co-op “deathmatch” video game where we were paired up together against a score or more of artificial intelligence-powered virtual bad guys. We watched the same screen with our weapons and site points covering an area in the distance. This was typical of first person shooter games where players either had their own display screens or shared use of one screen in a split view format.

A Knight's Tale in 3 Acts
(Dan K., November 25, 2008)
I rarely find myself in disagreement with you, but on this column I certainly do. ( This Week's Theme: The Coming Great Depression November 24, 2008)

The most probable correct path from past to future would be one of Inflation -- Deflation(Dis-inflation) -- Hyper-inflation.

Readers Poetry

The old Chinese man
doing his kata late at night
not the feeble movements of December
but the feline reach
of Combat Tai Chi Chuan

This is part of my past
the sign that read "No Chinese or Dogs"
Shattered by one raging kick
of this once young man.
